Ajaba Community Free Medical Outreach

The Benson Adeyemi Foundation (BAF) recently made a significant impact in the Ajaba community, Ila Local Government Area of Osun State, by providing a free medical outreach that benefited over 500 residents. This initiative was part of the activities organized to celebrate the one-year coronation anniversary of the community’s traditional ruler, the Owaloja of Kajola Ajaba, Oba Bisiriyu Adeniji.

The medical outreach, sponsored by Dr. Fikayo Benson-Adeyemi, the Executive Director of the Benson Adeyemi Foundation, included a range of essential healthcare services. Residents received free blood pressure tests, eye check-ups, blood tests, and were also provided with free medications and eyeglasses. The outreach aimed to address the immediate healthcare needs of the community, many of whom have limited access to medical services.

Speaking at the event, Ibukun Akomolafe, the Director of Innovation at the Benson Adeyemi Foundation, highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to supporting underserved communities. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in contributing to the growth and development of society, particularly in areas where access to healthcare is limited.

“We are here to carry out an extensive medical outreach to mark the king’s one-year coronation anniversary, including medical checkups, blood tests, and ensuring residents have access to doctors,” Akomolafe stated. “We believe that providing healthcare to over 500 people in this community will have a lasting impact, especially in terms of early detection of diseases and the treatment of minor health issues that, if detected early, can be easily managed.”

The success of the outreach was met with gratitude from the residents and the community leaders. In his remarks, the Owaloja of Kajola Ajaba, Oba Bisiriyu Adeniji, expressed his appreciation for the Benson Adeyemi Foundation’s efforts and called on the government to follow suit by making healthcare more accessible and affordable, particularly in rural areas.

“This program is part of the activities marking my one-year anniversary as a King, and I am proud that my son, Fikayo Benson-Adeyemi, through the Benson Adeyemi Foundation, used this opportunity to support our community with a free medical outreach,” Oba Adeniji said. “If an individual can do this, the government can help us too. Many people’s untimely deaths are due to their inability to afford adequate healthcare. The government should come to the rescue of people living in rural areas.”

The outreach not only provided immediate medical relief but also underscored the vital role of community-driven initiatives in improving health outcomes. The Benson Adeyemi Foundation remains committed to creating sustainable health solutions in underserved regions, and this successful outreach in Ajaba is a testament to the Foundation’s mission of fostering a healthier society for all.

For a better society, the Benson Adeyemi Foundation will continue to reach out, bringing essential healthcare services to those who need it the most.
