Medical Outreach in Collaboration with the Nigerian Bar Association – Osogbo, Osun State

On 29 May 2025, the Benson Adeyemi Foundation (BAF), in collaboration with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Osogbo branch, held a medical outreach program to provide free health screenings, medical consultations, and medications to NBA members and the surrounding community. This initiative aligns with BAF’s mission under The Purple Initiative to improve access to healthcare and empower individuals with knowledge of their health status.

Objectives

The outreach was designed to deliver essential medical services, including basic screenings and consultations, while strengthening partnerships with professional bodies like the NBA to expand healthcare reach and impact.

Activities

The program commenced at 9:00 a.m. with registration and triage, followed by screening stations for blood pressure and random blood sugar checks. Participants then moved on to doctor consultations, where prescriptions were issued as needed, and concluded their visit by collecting free medications.

The event was supported by a dedicated team consisting of two doctors, six nurses, one pharmacist, one media personnel, and several volunteers, all working together to ensure a seamless experience for attendees. The program concluded successfully at 3:00 p.m.

Outcomes and Impact

The outreach served a total of 77 beneficiaries, including 35 females and 42 males, aged between 18 and 63 years. All planned services were delivered efficiently, and both NBA members and community participants expressed sincere gratitude for the free healthcare provided.

The event not only met its goal of providing immediate medical relief but also strengthened BAF’s relationship with the NBA, opening doors for future collaborations to benefit more community members.

Conclusion

The NBA medical outreach in Osogbo was a success, offering screenings, consultations, and medications to 77 individuals. This initiative underscores BAF’s commitment to bridging healthcare gaps through partnerships and ensuring that vital medical services reach those who need them most.
